Storyline

Yusuke, a 12year old boy, visits his father’s home town during his winter vacation for the first time in his life. Everything there was new to him: the quiet and beautiful nature of winter, animals, old fashioned Japanese houses, and traditional country style Japanese dishes, farm work and hunting in the mountain. He learns the true meaning of the pre-meal phrase, “Itadaki-masu”(thank the meal), which he has never said before. He also meets a beautiful mysterious girl and all the experiences during the 3days of one winter changes him. What is the meaning “to eat”, “to live” and “to take life”? This entertaining and educational movie portrays a boy growing up trough encounters with traditional Japanese food culture.

Plot

1. The audience would be able to learn the true meanings of "Itadaki-masu (Let's eat)" and "Gochiso-sama (Thanks for the meal)", which appear to be becoming nothing more than set phrases without any particular meaning attached in many modern Japanese households.
2. This entertaining and educational movie would be enjoyable to watch for both parents and children.
3. An array of talented actors, led by two highly-touted child actors, livens up the storyline.
