Initiatives with Okinawa Prefecture
Support Squads
It is our aim to establish "Support Squads" operating year-round, all over the prefecture, to liven up our event.
Also, through these Support Squads in different locations, we promote initiatives aimed at the proposal and implementation of plans for local venues, together with the people in those areas.
The following 16 Support Squads have been formed so far: "Ginowan Support Squad", "Chatan Support Squad", "Koza Support Squad", "Naha Support Squad", "Urasoe Support Squad", "Zamami Support Squad", "Nago Support Squad", "Nakijin Support Squad", "Itoman Support Squad", "Yaeyama Support Squad", "Miyako Support Squad", "Uruma Support Squad", "Kunigami Support Squad", "Nanjo Support Squad", "Kin Support Squad", "Tomigusuku Support Squad".
Also, through these Support Squads in different locations, we promote initiatives aimed at the proposal and implementation of plans for local venues, together with the people in those areas.
16 Support Squads
Pre-Events
Held prior to the festival (which is on Mar 25-29, 2015) to promote collaborative projects and events together with people throughout the prefecture and local events. Also promote initiatives such as the "Countdown Ceremony" and "Clean-up Activities" together with people in the Support Squads and Cooperative Associations, and people throughout the region.
・December 2014 – January 2015 Garage Sale’s Okinawa New Comedy Tour "Do You See Me?" (Urasoe, Okinawa, Nago, Miyako, Ishigaki, Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka – 9 performances)
・Total of 12 days in January "Escape from Sealed Island 2" (Miyakojima)
