About Main Poster
Based on the "Eyes" Drawn by the People Of Okinawa Prefecture! Cartoonist Akira Toriyama Participated in the Production of the Poster!
The symbolic design of this year’s main poster is "O! chan". The "O!" comes from Okinawa, as well as "Okina (Big)" and "Odoroki (Surprise)", and this is then finished with the "eyes" that so many people have drawn in their own way, to form "O! chan".
The largest "O! chan" eye drawn in the center of the poster was kindly drawn by cartoonist Akira Toriyama, well known not only in Japan but with fans around the world for his work on "Dragon Ball" and "Dr. Slump". This is surrounded by "eyes" drawn by people from all over Okinawa, to create "O! chan". It is our hope that the participation of children and adults all over the island in the creation of this symbol has drawn them closer together.
